snow chains March 30, 2010 St. Louisan Use to the "old style" chains, so it took a little longer than expected to figure out how to attach them the first time.
After that, they are fast to put on and take off. Worked well on steep, ice and packed snow inclines.
Best Chains Ever Owned March 21, 2010 Luap (The Cove at Cripple Creek) Purchased two sets for Tundra 4x4. I suggest you spend some dry-time learning the product as they are unique to install.
I live in the National Forest with no road service for private property. Three months of snow and ice made the steep climb impossible without traction. One chain on each wheel, extra low 4wd, no problems over 18+" snow and ice pack. You will get wet and you will get dirty when field installing. Comes in a nice, two-chain-case with drawings for instructions. A good buy. I never leave home without them in my emergency kit.
look good and easy to install March 7, 2010 amazman (schuyler,va usa) look good and easy to install but tension piece made of Plastic and very thin metal it is easy to break loose.
Great high quality tire chains March 3, 2010 D.E. This is my first experience with tire chains and it is a good one. I installed them on a 2003 BMW X5. The instructions are all visual and it takes a little while to figure them out the first time. After that, they go on quickly and intuitively. There is very little clearance between the chain and the front wheel strut, but nothing seems to rub in use. These chains bite very well in ice and snow and provide good uphill traction.
Easy to Put on, Better than Cables February 4, 2010 Wowhead 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
These are solid chains, and don't feel as flimsy as cables. My friend's snow cables broke on his way down from Big Bear Lake, CA. He had just bought them the day before. The instructions are fairly simple to follow, and the colored links make it simple to determine where to connect everything. (You can see the red connections in the picture.) You may have to drive a little bit and then re-tighten the links since each chain is made for several different sized tires. This is easily done by disconnecting one connection and pulling it tighter before reconnecting it.
When I put these on my 2007 Honda CR-V, I was easily done in a few minutes for each tire. While other people were getting stuck at the snow/iced filled parking lot in Big Bear using their cables, I was able to easily get out without a single problem.
